Furniture online store with a 3D sofa configurator

The challenge
The factory sold sofas through dealers and wanted its own retail sales. The catch: 9 models but dozens of fabric, filling and size options each — a classic product card could not convey the choice, and buyers left “to think it over”. They needed a store with a configurator where the customer builds their own sofa and sees the price instantly.
The solution
We built a Next.js store with a configurator: the buyer picks a model, size, mechanism and fabric category from 240 samples — the price and production time recalculate instantly, and the preview changes the upholstery. The assembled configuration is saved as a shareable link and goes into 1C as an order with a specification for the workshop. We added installment payment via a partner bank and regional delivery calculation including carry-up to the floor.

The result
Conversion to order among visitors who used the configurator was 6.8% versus 1.9% for the catalog on average. In the first year, online retail brought in 18% of the factory’s revenue without cannibalizing dealer sales. The average online order value was ₽67,000, and 44% of orders used installments.
