Patient portal for a medical laboratory network
The challenge
Test results were handed out at reception or emailed by hand — patients called to ask “is it ready”, and operators drowned in calls. The goal was a personal account: results online, test history, trends of indicators, and ordering tests at a discount with online payment.
The solution
We built a personal account with phone-number authorization: results are pulled from the lab’s LIS right after a doctor validates them, and the patient gets an SMS with a link. Test history is stored for years, and for recurring indicators the system builds trend charts with reference ranges. A catalog of 800 tests with preparation instructions and online payment (5% discount for ordering via the site), plus a collection-point picker on a map with opening hours. Special attention to data protection: encryption, SMS-code access, compliance with Russia’s personal-data law (152-FZ).

The result
Calls asking “is my test ready” fell by 70% — operators switched to consultations. 54% of patients open results in the account within the first 2 hours of readiness. Discounted online orders bring 21% of the network’s revenue, and the average online order value is 18% higher than offline — patients add tests from the recommendations.
