Pharmacy network website with drug reservation and per-pharmacy stock

The challenge

Customers called pharmacies to ask about a specific drug — pharmacists were pulled away from the queue, and people drove around 3–4 locations. The goal was a site with search across 18,000 drugs, live stock and price at each pharmacy, and a 24-hour reservation (remote sale of medicines is restricted — reservation with pickup was exactly what was needed).

The solution

We built a catalog with stock and prices synced from the network’s accounting system every 20 minutes: a drug card shows availability across all pharmacies on a map with the price at each. A reservation holds the package for 24 hours, the customer gets an SMS with the reservation number, and the pharmacist gets a task on the terminal. Search understands typos, INN and brand names (“paracetamol” also finds “Panadol”), and we set up category pages for demand (“for allergies”, “vitamins for children”). Careful with the law: no online payment for prescription drugs, only reservation and pickup, with the Chestny Znak marking accounted for.

The result

Over 6,500 packages per month are reserved through the site, and 92% of reservations are picked up. “Is it in stock” calls to pharmacies fell by 60%. The site became a redistribution tool: if a drug is not in the nearest pharmacy, the customer reserves it at a neighboring one rather than going to competitors — the network estimates ₽2.8M per month in retained revenue.
