Auto parts online store with VIN-based lookup

The challenge
The company sold parts over the counter and on Avito, with a warehouse of 40,000 items and access to four suppliers’ price lists. The goal was a store with VIN and cross-reference lookup, warehouse stock and lead times for made-to-order items, plus wholesale prices for repair-shop partners.
The solution
We integrated lookup catalogs (Laximo) — a VIN search breaks the car down to assemblies and part numbers. By part number the store shows the original and analogs from a cross-reference database: own stock with a “now” price and supplier items with “tomorrow/3 days” lead times and markup per margin rules. For repair shops there is a wholesale price list after registration, deferred payment under contract, and an API to pass orders from their accounting systems. Suppliers’ stock and prices sync every 2 hours.

The result
Online sales grew to 45% of the company’s turnover in a year, and the number of active repair-shop partners grew from 12 to 67. VIN lookup cut “didn’t fit” returns from 9% to 2.5%. The average repair-shop order is ₽34,000, and deferred-payment turnover is controlled automatically.
