Readable URLs and transliteration for SEO
What a good URL should be
Short, readable, lowercase, with words separated by hyphens and no special characters. The tool automatically transliterates the text, removes extra characters and assembles a ready slug.
A hyphen is the correct word separator in a URL: search engines do not treat underscores as a word boundary.
Rules for working with URLs
Build the slug from the page title, removing stop-words: “kak-vybrat-divan-dlya-gostinoy” is better shortened to “vybor-divana-dlya-gostinoy”. Do not change the URLs of published pages without need.
If changing the address is unavoidable, always set a 301 redirect from the old URL, otherwise the page will lose its accumulated weight and positions.
