Meta tags and their role in SEO
Why meta tags matter
The title and description are the first thing a user sees in the search results. The title participates directly in ranking, while the description affects the snippet click-through rate (CTR): a well-written description can lift traffic without changing positions.
The tool shows the actual tag values, their length, the presence of canonical, robots and viewport, plus the full picture of Open Graph and Twitter Cards — and gives a score from 0 to 100.
Common mistakes
The most frequent problems: a missing or duplicate title, a description shorter than 70 characters, a missing og:image (links look “bare” in messengers), an incorrect canonical, an accidentally left-over noindex.
Check your meta tags after every redesign and migration: that is when settings are most often lost and traffic quietly declines.
