Quizzes and lead magnets: how to collect 2–3 times more leads from the same traffic

Quizzes and lead magnets: how to collect 2–3 times more leads from the same traffic

The problem: there is traffic, but no leads

The classic “Leave a request, we’ll call you back” form converts 1–3% of visitors. The other 97% leave: they are “just looking”, afraid of being called constantly, or too lazy to phrase their request. Quizzes and lead magnets remove this barrier: a person does not “surrender to the sales department” but gets something useful. They leave a contact along the way.

A quiz: a survey instead of a form

A quiz is a short test of 4–7 questions with a result at the end: “Answer 5 questions — we’ll estimate the kitchen’s cost and give you a 3D project.”

Why it works

  • Answering multiple-choice questions is easier than writing text — engagement is many times higher.
  • The sunk-effort effect: went through four steps — reluctant to quit on the fifth, where the phone is asked.
  • Personalization: the person feels the estimate is “for them”, not a price list for everyone.
  • A bonus for the sales team: the manager calls already knowing the answers — the conversation is to the point.

Where quizzes give the best result

Niches where the price “depends on parameters”: custom kitchens and furniture, renovation, windows, stretch ceilings, construction, tours, insurance, bankruptcy. A quiz’s conversion is 5–15% versus 1–3% for a form; a lead is 2–4 times cheaper for the same ad budget.

Rules of a good quiz

  1. 4–7 questions, multiple-choice only, no “write in your own words”.
  2. On-point questions — those a manager would ask over the phone anyway.
  3. A bonus for completing: an estimate, a discount, a catalog, a 3D project.
  4. Ask for the phone at the end, after the investment of attention.
  5. Honesty: if you promised an estimate — send an estimate, not “a manager will tell you everything”.

A lead magnet: value in exchange for a contact

A lead magnet is free value for an email or phone. It works where the decision matures slowly and the person first needs to “get smarter”:

  • Checklists and guides: “A checklist for accepting an apartment from a developer” — for renovators.
  • A price list or catalog in PDF — the simplest and most workable option in B2B.
  • Calculators: cost, savings, payback estimates.
  • Templates: contracts, specs, estimates.
  • A mini-course or webinar — for education and consulting.

The criterion of a good lead magnet: it solves one specific problem in 5–15 minutes and is linked to your paid service. Downloaded the “acceptance checklist” → a month later ordered a renovation from those who wrote the checklist.

When it does not work

  • The product is simple and cheap — a pizza does not need a quiz, it needs an “Order” button.
  • There is no one to handle the leads: quiz leads are warmer than cold ones but cool off within hours. Not called the same day — money down the drain.
  • A quiz for the quiz’s sake: 12 pointless questions and “we’ll call you back” at the end — people sense a con.

Takeaway

A quiz and a lead magnet are the fastest way to raise the return on existing traffic: you do not need more ads, you need to lose fewer of those who already came. We will build a quiz or calculator for your niche and integrate it into the site and CRM — let’s discuss the task.
